Havelske trziste (Havel’s Market)
Where? Havelska Street, Prague 1.
When? Open daily, all year round 09:00-18:00.
Havel’s market is one of the oldest in the city, dating back to 1232. This market offers an abundance of tasty food and souvenirs, including fruit and vegetables, flowers, leather goods, arts and crafts, toys and puppets, and ceramics. This market originally sold only produce, however, had adapted over the years to meet the demands of the growing tourist population.
Things to look out for:
- Local honey
- Handmade Czech crystal and glass jewelry
- Traditional spa wafers
- Wooden toys
Prague flea market
Where? River embankment, near Palackeho náměstí, Prague 2
When? Open every second Saturday in the month, all year round 09:00-16:00.
Take a stroll along the new town side of the river through the Prague flea market, which is a wonderful collection of stalls selling mostly second hand pieces, including clothes, jewelry and old photographs. This market takes place alongside the Vltava River and attracts mainly Czech people, so this is a fantastic way to live like the locals and find some treasure along the way!
Trhy Tylak Farmers Market
Where? Tylovo náměstí, Prague 2
When? Open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00am – 4:00pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
This farmers market is new to the scene in Prague , only debuting in March of 2012. Products for sale typically include honey of different varieties, fruits and fruit juices, vegetables, flowers, as well as dairy and meat products, including fresh and cured meats like sausages. All of the products are strictly from the Czech Republic, concentrating on areas around Prague specifically. Trhy Tylak Farmers Market is a riot of colours, smells and is a source of genuinely exceptional produce.
